The New City United Methodist
Sunday School Mission Statement

The mission of our church school is to create an atmosphere where our young people can learn, explore and hear the Word of God and Jesus Christ, as taught by caring teachers.s Part of this mission is to teach them what it means to be a Christian in the United Methodist tradition.

We use Cokesbury curriculum, Grow, Proclaim, Serve!

Through this curriculum children learn to;
     grow in their relationship to God and to
         Jesus Christ;
     grow in discipleship;
     grow in their love of the Bible and in their
         Bible skills;
     grow in their relationships to one another;
     grow to love their neighbors as themselves.

Sunday School Activities

Our faithfulness has been growing by leaps and bounds.

February was a snowy month, yet the Sunday children made special Valentine's for people who where shut-ins. They went to members of our church, Helen Hayes Hospital, St. Dominic Sisters Home, and Northern Nursing Home in West Haverstraw. Wow, people were so very thankful and happy.

The children sang so beautifully in church,
"Give me oil in my Lamp!"
Thanks to Dale Johnson and her son Ethan.

On March 2, 2014 the children will start the GROW, PROCLAIM & SERVE Spring material.

Unit 1: The Way to Jerusalem
1: Jesus and the Children
