VOWS OF MEMBERSHIP

We are very eager to welcome new members and those seeking a faith based life. The Pastor will be happy to discuss membership, faith and your relationship to our church with you. Please contact him.

Here is a brief summary of the meaning of membership in the Church:

Membership in the United Methodist Church is open to all Baptized Christians. Membership is a sign of commitment to Christ and the community of the Church. It identifies each one as a significant part of the Body of Christ, who support and help one another in their life journey and in their growing in love and service to God and neighbor.

Those not Baptized who are interested in church membership will be guided through the process of Holy Baptism and then Church membership.

We become members of Christ's universal Church by Holy Baptism,
the sacrament of initiation and incorporation into the body of Christ
as we make our baptismal vows and received God's promises.

Reception into the United Methodist Church is by virtue of a person's Baptism and these commitments that follow.

RECEPTION INTO THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

+The pastor addresses all those transferring their membership into The United Methodist Church, together with those who, through baptism or confirmation, have just professed their own faith:

As members of Christ's universal Church,
will you be loyal to The United Methodist Church,
and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries?

RECEPTION INTO THE LOCAL CONGREGATION

As members of this congregation,
will you faithfully participate in its ministries
by your prayers, your presence,
your gifts, and your service?
